Our story

LearningSense was founded by Joshua and Rachel Barnett in Lubbock, Texas.

As homeschooling parents, we've watched directors pour their hearts into building something special for their families — and then spend countless hours managing the logistics. Registration chaos on enrollment day. Chasing families for Venmo payments. Announcements scattered across three different platforms. Spreadsheets that only the director can understand.

The tools available were either too complicated, too expensive, too outdated, or simply not built for the way real programs actually work.

So we built LearningSense.

Our goal was simple: give program directors back their time, so they can focus on what actually matters — raising up the next generation, and building communities where families connect and children thrive. Today, directors of homeschool co-ops, Parents Day Out (also called Mother's Day Out) programs, and enrichment communities all use LearningSense.

Co-Founder & Community

Rachel is the heart of LearningSense's relationship with the directors we serve. She works directly with them to understand their needs, gather feedback, and ensure LearningSense continues to solve real problems. Rachel is the first call when a director has a question and the reason our support actually feels like support.

Joshua Barnett
Co-Founder & Product

Joshua leads product development and strategy for LearningSense. With a background in business and technology, he focuses on building a platform that is genuinely useful — not just feature-complete. His goal is to make LearningSense the tool he wishes existed when he first saw what program directors were dealing with.

Our values

Directors first

Every feature in LearningSense starts with a real problem a program director told us about. We do not build for the sake of building.

Honest pricing

No setup fees. No per-family charges. No surprise add-ons. One flat monthly price that scales with your program.

Built for community

Programs that raise up children are not businesses — they are communities. LearningSense is designed to support that, not replace it.

Based in Lubbock, Texas. Serving homeschool co-ops, Parents Day Out programs, and enrichment communities across the state and beyond.
