Cookie Policy
Last Updated: October 27, 2026
Introduction#
This Cookie Policy explains how LearningSense LLC ("LearningSense," "we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on www.learningsense.org and our web application (together, the "Services"). It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
1. What Are Cookies?#
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, to make them work more efficiently, and to provide information to the site owners. Similar technologies include web beacons, pixels, and local storage, which we refer to collectively as "cookies" in this policy.
2. Why We Use Cookies#
We use cookies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, keep the Services secure, and understand how the Services are used so we can improve them. We do not use cookies to serve advertising, and we do not sell information collected through cookies.
3. Types of Cookies We Use#
Strictly Necessary Cookies and Storage
These keep the Services working: signing you in and keeping you signed in as you move between pages, protecting your session, remembering your cookie choice (a cookie named ls_cookie_consent, kept for one year), and remembering items while you sign up. They cannot be switched off through our consent tools.
Preference Storage
We use your browser's local storage, not cookies, to remember choices that make the Services easier to use, such as which view or tab you last opened, which child you were looking at, a banner you dismissed, and your sidebar layout. These values stay on your device, are not sent to anyone else, and are cleared when you clear your browser's site data.
Analytics
We may use a privacy-focused analytics service (currently Plausible) to count visits and see which pages are used, so we can improve the Services. It runs only after you accept analytics in the cookie banner, it does not use cookies, it does not track you across other websites, and the information is used in aggregate. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies of any kind.
4. Cookies Set by Third Parties#
Some cookies are set by third-party services we use to operate the platform:
| Provider | Purpose | More Information |
|---|---|---|
| Stripe | Payment processing and fraud prevention. Stripe may set cookies on its own payment pages to secure transactions and detect fraud. | stripe.com/privacy |
| Supabase and Cloudflare (hosting and sign-in) | Authentication and session management that keep you securely signed in, and delivery of the pages you load. | See our Privacy Policy |
| Featurebase (help center and support chat) | The support chat widget stores a small amount of data in your browser to remember your conversation. If you are signed in, we tell it who you are so we can answer you; see our Subprocessors page. | learningsense.org/subprocessors |
If we add or replace a tool that uses cookies or similar storage, we update this policy before it goes live.
5. How to Control Cookies#
You have several ways to control or limit cookies:
- Consent banner. When required, we present a cookie banner on your first visit that lets you accept or manage non-essential cookies. To change your choice later, clear this site's cookies in your browser and the banner will appear again, or write to support@learningsense.org.
- Browser settings. Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings. If you block strictly necessary cookies, parts of the Services, including signing in, may not work.
- Do Not Track. Because there is no common industry standard for Do-Not-Track signals, we do not currently respond to them, as described in our Privacy Policy.
6. Changes to This Cookie Policy#
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use or for legal reasons. The updated version will be indicated by a revised "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
